We can perform a breaking of the glass ceremony.  This is an ideal ceremony for an inter-faith marriage, but other couples are adopting it as well.  Breaking of the glass is performed at the conclusion of the wedding ceremony.

A Jewish wedding custom is to take a wine glass wrapped in cloth or in a bag and crush it underfoot.  (Note: Wine glasses may be hard to break, so sometimes light bulbs are used instead.)  Sometimes this is done by the groom, sometimes both the bride and groom participate.  After the breaking of the glass, the guests yell
"Mazel Tov!"

There are several symbolic meanings.  One is that the marriage will last as long as the glass is broken- forever.  It is also a reminder that a marriage relationship, like glass, is fragile, and must be treated with care.

We have a fantastic selection of sample ceremonies, ceremony ideas, and much more to choose from when you book with us.  Contact us now to start creating the CT wedding of your dreams!
